While most young and dynamic mechanical and electronics engineers struggle to choose between hard core industries and software companies, I personally invite attention of these young force to machine tool industry.
An engineer who loves creativity, who has zeal to go that extra mile, who enjoys excelling in every process, machine tool industry is perfect fit.
High design expertise, artisan skills, enthusiasm to work with patience are some the key qualities that an engineer should possess who wants to work in machine tool industry. The satisfaction you get on seeing machine coming up is joyous process. And once it is completed, you are on cloud nine.
Indian Machine Tool Association, fondly called as IMTMA, represents this industry in India. I do not have much experience to know how these type of associations work. But I can safely say that it can not be better than IMTMA. It has been instrumental in hand holding of small and medium industries to take them to new orbit. IMTMA is a perfect blend of big companies in this field and SMEs. It creates many networking platforms allowing CEOs, top executives to mingle with each other and exchange thoughts so that all move ahead.
IMTMA holds many courses to help industry to keep their knowledge updated on various aspects of machine tool. Their all three centers, Bangalore, Pune and Guragaon holds numerous training programs. Their finishing school, production school and design school are of long duration and help engineers to not only finer aspects but deeper knowledge on the subjects.
IMTMA conducts various sessions on defining vision for whole industry, they pass on happenings around the world to the industry and that help companies to benchmark, takes delegations to exhibitions allowing members to get in to JVs, technical tie ups, distributions network across globe. They closely work with government agencies to echo industry voice on right ears. Though not reality so far, but their recent efforts to put up Integrated Machine Tool Park is an excellent example how visionaries at IMTMA work in the good interest of industry.
I personally appeal to all related industries to come forward and be a member of this association and get benefitted of all the initiatives of IMTMA. It would not be out of context to invite young breed of engineers to join this wonderful machine tool industry and be part of Make in India mission.
To let you know the growth prospects of this industry let me put up vision of IMTMA to which members are committed to achieve.
